School Watch

Joan Pease MP2024-01-08

It’s really important that as a Bayside, we keep watch on our schools over the holidays.

Key Points:

  • Help to make sure students can return to safe schools this year

  • Report incidences you see to the appropriate number

  • Report crimes in progress or emergencies to 000

Our schools have a range of protection measures already in place, including monitored intruder detection, CCTV and surveillance by police, Protective Services, and private security firms, however it’s the eyes and ears of locals that can prevent instances of crime from occurring in the first place. If you see or hear anything at our schools these holidays that appears suspicious, you can call the School Watch number on 13 17 88. As always, if you see a crime in progress, call Triple Zero (000). Together, we can ensure that all students can come back to safe learning environments when they return to school in the new year.
