$15M Boost for School Food Program 

$1,000 will be slashed up front thanks to the Queensland Government and an extra $300 from the Federal Government. 

That means most Bayside households won’t pay a cent on their energy bill until March 2025.

Plus, Bayside small businesses will also receive $650 off their bill.

It’s only possible because we’re making the multinational mining companies pay their fair share and because we kept our energy assets in public hands.

From 5 August, the cost of all Translink public transport services will be slashed to 50 cents, no matter where you live or how far you travel.

New Premier Steven Miles’ number one priority is taking pressure off Queenslanders’ household
budgets. The upcoming budget will deliver the biggest cost of living relief in Queensland’s history.

As part of this unprecedented budget, the Premier has announced from 5 August 2024 the Miles Labor Government will lower all public transport fares to 50 cents a trip for 6 months.

By lowering fares to 50 cents we’re taking pressure off household bills and easing congestion. 

It’s important that Caucus demonstrate how the Miles Government is putting more money back in the
pockets of Queenslanders and taking cars off the road.

Moreton Bay Boys’ College have been awarded $55,000 for the installation of a Red Turn Arrow in the southbound lane of Manly Road, at the intersection in front of the entrance to the College. 

This project will make the intersection much safer for both students and drivers.
