Bayside infrastructure development remains a top priority as the Queensland Government allocates a significant investment of $23 million for the ongoing Lindum Station Precinct Upgrade in this year’s State Budget.
The funds will be utilised for various improvements, including a full station accessibility upgrade valued at $15 million, along with an additional $8 million for the Lindum level crossing upgrade and signalisation project. The Lindum Station Precinct Upgrade initiative aims to enhance the accessibility and functionality of the popular Lindum Station, which serves as a crucial transportation hub for residents and commuters in our Bayside. With the allocated $15 million, the station will undergo a comprehensive accessibility upgrade, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of inclusivity. The accessibility upgrade will involve the installation of state-of-the-art facilities such as ramps, lifts, and tactile guidance systems to assist passengers with disabilities, parents with strollers, and the elderly. These improvements will create a seamless and convenient experience for all Baysiders, promoting a more inclusive public transportation system. In addition to the station accessibility upgrade, the ongoing Lindum level crossing upgrade and signalisation project will receive $8 million in funding. This project aims to enhance safety measures at the level crossing, minimising the risk of accidents and improving traffic flow in the vicinity. In conjunction with both the Federal Government and Brisbane City Council, the level crossing upgrade will include the realignment of the existing intersection at the level crossing, to improve visibility and safety for motorists. Traffic signalling systems, new traffic islands and enhanced road markings will also be included as part of the upgrade. The Lindum Station Precinct Upgrade is part of my ongoing commitment to delivering vital infrastructure projects that benefit our Bayside. By prioritising accessibility and safety, this significant funding allocation will ensure that Lindum Station remains a modern, efficient, and inclusive transportation hub for years to come. I know that locals and commuters are eagerly anticipating the completion of the Lindum Station Accessibility Upgrade, which will greatly enhance their daily commuting experience. The Queensland Government's commitment to investing $23 million in this project demonstrates a strong dedication to improving public transportation infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and enriching the lives of the people in the Bayside.
