In a positive turn, the cinema will reopen in April as Bayside Cinemas, with local business The Smitham Group as operator. It is also great to see that ticket prices will start at just $10 for adults, and $8 for pensioners and children.

Supporting our local businesses is a major priority for me. When we shop local, we support our Bayside economy which ultimately benefits Baysiders.

Wynnum Cinema Reopening Announced

The Wynnum Manly and District Men’s Shed is an asset to our Bayside. They offer a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for men of all ages.

That is why I was very excited to hear that the Men’s shed have acquired brand new computer-controlled wood turning and metal cutting equipment, which will improve the already outstanding craftsmanship of its members.

But there’s more! The Men’s shed have also unveiled an ambitious vision to construct a new colonial-style building, which would include an office, music room and inclusive workspace to enable men with disabilities or carers to take full advantage of the facilities at the Shed.

Moreton Bay Boys’ College have been awarded $55,000 for the installation of a Red Turn Arrow in the southbound lane of Manly Road, at the intersection in front of the entrance to the College. 

This project will make the intersection much safer for both students and drivers.
